I thouroughly enjoyed the Bowlers reunion, as did my mates and i'm sure all of you that attended that wonderful night. I was thinking after i got my head together if this event could be possibly held once a month(or even Bi-monthly). this would be great if it was held at the Park hall in Chorley, great venue by the way.maybe on til 4am or even 5.
if not the Park, then somewhere close(maximes in wigan), know they have already got an old skool night in maximes on 9th june, but push the promoters and get a monthly night so we can experience it reguraly like it used to be.
In the meantime i will be attending(& gurning) at back tothe old skool night at maximes on 9th june, then the Worx Vs Goodtimes do at 53degrees in preston, hope to see u all there. Lets bring back the Old Skool.
Holding it monthy would lose it's appeal very quickly ... once every six months would keep people hungry for it.

i'd go every week, nevermind every month!! bring on b2b2!!!

I personally think that what was created the other week was made so special beacuse of everyones thirst for it - we all wanted it to happen so bad that when it did it was fantastic.
Remembering that tickets were only available to peeps registered on here holding it every week or month would almost force the admin to sell tickets in shops or to have a pay on the door policy which would allow allsorts in - something that we just dont want to happen!
The music and memories will never leave us and getting together once in a while will be a fantastic way of staying in touch with it all and everybody.
Lets keep it special and keep what we have here alive and strong. We have all been fortunate to come across this site that the guys have made for us - let us pay them back and use it the way we should and the way it was intended - and just look forwards to the next chance we get to have a good ol'chin wag and a handshake.
...and whilst we are waiting for our next Bowlers do let us support the guys on here that have nights already going "The Worx" & "Goodtimes".
thanks for listening

Much as I would love to go back to bowlers every single month, or even every single week (anyone know how we used to manage that?????) it wouldn't be feasible with the responsibilities everyone has nowadays, and the attendance would drop. To maintain the atmosphere as electric as it was this month it would have to be every few months, something special to look forward to a few times a year!
... and it would mean I could ensure I never missed a single event through taking pictures at other nights too!

I totally agree with the above comments. To have it every week would be great but as B2B is mainly for the original Bowlers ravers i cant see people being able to make it    , due to
responsibilities like kids, partners, mortgages and jobs to keep, and the fact that we are not 18 any more     .
Personally i feel that every 4 to 6 months is what is needed to keep the Bowlers experience alive as anymore often and i wouldnt be able to make it  and i would be gutted if i had to miss one  . :D

I think there should be 3 events per year.
1 on May Bank Hol,
1 on August Bank Hol,
and the last one near Xmas :D

3 a year could work the other way though..... people have to commit to these events in a big way.... by limiting it to 3 a year your could almost alienate people who cant commit to the dates you pick...

bloody club nights are doing my frikkin head in,iam already having to book my worx nights for NEXT FOOKING YEAR ALREADY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
iam happy to put an event on 5-6 times a year, alot goes into promoting as well as holding down a full time job.n its not easy.
i personaly dont think any b2b night will be better than the first, the first event had the right crowd,i just have the felling that many a knobb head will get hold of tickets knowing the first was good off reading reviews on tinternet n word of mouth, but thats just what i think, hope it doesnt go like that.
ill be at any reunion though.
but one thing is for sure fellas, please get in touch when your looking at dates as we dont want to clash events with yourselves,i wont leak information out to anyone, but its a wise move all round.

ok, gunna reply to both o these at the same time , kill two birds with one stone and all that
right, first off, please explain how you can possibly vet every single ticket purchaser??? Besides having a questionnaire to answer before you buy a ticket asking questions like a) do you wear a cap and loads of gold? b) what would you do if someone bumps you by accident in a club and spilt your drink? i dont see how you can forsee who is a knob and who isnt? The point is, anyone can buy tickets, but if you have a the right doorteam, knobs either wont get in, or get thrown our efficiently and with minimum disruption. danny, stu and daz ad the right doorteam.
of course knobs ruin everything, but like i say, how the hell do you know who is and who isnt until they cause grief? in which event, see my doorteam comment above
gaz your right to say that following b2b events wont be as special as the first one, it was an amazing night that people have been waiting years for, and for that reason, and the sentimental feelings people had for bowlers, that first nigt cannot be beat. But, the nights will continue to be as successful, and the simple reason being is this site. We have all started meeting each other now, and friendships have been built. As the b2b events continue, this site will grow, and this site is what will keep the nights running ad succesful :D We have had a taster, and we ALL WANT MORE
the 3 amigos will be determined to progress the nights, and i know they will

course you can police it... keep it to site members etc etc... you need to be careful as most oldskool events (as with the scene) potentially could attract the wrong crowd! esepcially as you start to open up tickets to any tom dick and harry... you want, as much as possible, to minimise this.. as one bad night could ruin every future event and that would be a crime!!!
the events are hopfully here to stay.. so lets do our best and keep the knobs away.....

u get what i mean jo.thats what i ment.
on the way down i kept thinking "christ i hope its good" and it was.
i think a good way and perhaps the only way to get a crowd like that is to send out pre-flyers a few weeks b4 the event is advertised to the address's that payed for the first nights ticket, provididng the info was kept, well thats how i would do it,as i can see ppl not hesitating to make a purchase.
as stated by the green n jo,you cant police a nite, its down to the doormen to do thier job and us to do ours, the knobbhead is loathed, but gets everywhere.bit like shit in a field

yeah gaz but we want the comunity bto grow dont we? so we cant keep it limited to only those who have attended previously?
you have a good doorteam at the worx, i find them to be friendly which is better than acting like they own the place
i did encounter a few knobs at the first worx do, but it got sorted with mimimum fuss, after i chucked a drink

[quote="Gingerjim"]my personal view would be quarterly... once every 3 months! A life for all seasons!!!!
I definately agree with the fact that any more B2B nights than every few mnths would attract idiots and wrong uns!
I think it would be just right to have a B2B night every 3 months! But.......... It would be better if we could have alternate nights, LIFE then ASYLUM or a bigger venue where we could have both together, Extra Special! I know people who would travel from the far ends of the country for a night like that!
Lee :D
sorry lee but i would run to the other end of the country rather than go to an asylum night

Yeh, I admit that I would love to stand at the door at throw out everyone who I thought was a nob but............... You are right about the 'policing' and how it can't possibly be done. Knobheads are always going to turn up and I can't remember who said that there weren't any at B2B but there was, there were a few dodgy guys in there that night.
Fact is, if it's held too often it will lose its spark, like Woody said, people have commitments and I too would hate to miss one due to work/kids etc. Only every 6 months would be too long to wait and people will lose their passion for it, every 3/4 months I say would keep out the riff raff and keep people thirsty for more.
I would just like to add that I agree the lads did a great job with the ticket sales, they weren't available to any old 'Tom, Dick and Harry' and the fact that it's a ticket event will keep out the local chavs!.......So to speak?

I think there should be 3 events per year.
1 on May Bank Hol,
1 on August Bank Hol,
and the last one near Xmas :D
I agree. Keep it special , just for those who experienced it.
I disagree with u there coz I went to Bowlers for 10 years but my wife didn't even know what Bowlers was until she met me. Are you implying that she shouldn't come just because she didn't experience it?

I forgot to add on my last post, if the Old Skool Hardcore was in another room (if we got a different venue) would you really not go to a B2B Life and Asylum nite?
Yes, you would!

bloody club nights are doing my frikkin head in,iam already having to book my worx nights for NEXT FOOKING YEAR ALREADY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
iam happy to put an event on 5-6 times a year, alot goes into promoting as well as holding down a full time job.n its not easy.
i personaly dont think any b2b night will be better than the first, the first event had the right crowd,i just have the felling that many a knobb head will get hold of tickets knowing the first was good off reading reviews on tinternet n word of mouth, but thats just what i think, hope it doesnt go like that.
ill be at any reunion though.
but one thing is for sure fellas, please get in touch when your looking at dates as we dont want to clash events with yourselves,i wont leak information out to anyone, but its a wise move all round. think ya right there Gaz... tickets sales need to be policed to avoid the "knobs" gettin in...... cos ya right, they ruin everything....dont know how you can say the next event wont be as good as as the first gaz cos at the end of the day every one that went really enjoyed them selves and r going to want to go again and with it being all ticket and so far out of the way i think it keeps the nobs away , its not as if people go round town and get pissed up and decide to turn up at 11 pm and get let in just to make up the numbers , and if u knew the security team that was on the night of the b2b event u would understand that the first bit of trouble or attitude there feet wouldnt have touched the floor ,and josh if you had turned up on the night you would have seen that there wasnt one nob head insight and the atmosphere was just like the good old days ................................
yup ya right greenie and i agree from what i gather the 1st event was spot on.............
am holding onto my thoughts on the rest....

No Lee - that certainly is not what was meant pal I am sure - I think we all just want to keep it as real as possible cos it was so special to us - people that didnt go to Bowlers like old skool too and may just fancy a damn good night out and those peeps are welcome :D :D :D
I find it hard to believe that anyone would think "hmmm I am gonna get a ticket to that do and then get bladdered and make a complete prick out iof myself" - it just happens - and thats what doormen are for i guess, to control them people - I did see one guy getting arsey with a doorman when he was trying to get on the stage but he was dealt with with minimum fuss.
I think that selling the tickets on here is a sterling idea cos it does mean a little effort in buying one and like Greenie said it isnt like it is on the highstreet that would attract passers by.
 :D

Sorry Lee but I have to agree with Jo there.
I stopped going to bowlers because of Asylum & Compulsion - and the bar being opened !!!
I'm sure that whoever said about keeping it for us didn't mean that people who didn't go to Bowlers can't go to our reunions.
There were people there on Saturday that were blatantly too young too remember Bowlers but they were there because they are into the music and no doubt had heard so much about the scene from their older brothers and sisters and friends and just wanted to experience it for themselves.
Even though this is www.back2BOWLERS.co.uk we all tend to be ex-lifers rather than ex compulsioners/asylumers.
If they offered a hardcore room I would either steer well clear of it or not go to the night.

both worlds \o/\o/
itsall about personal taste at the end of the day, and unlike some moderators on some forums im not going to start getting personal just cos people like something i dont.
I can categorically state though, that you will never ever ever ever find me in a hardcore room, or at hardcore event. I accidentaly wandered into the hardcore room at the missing do ......... quick sharp exit
